Dunlop Echoplex Delay
The Dunlop Echoplex Delay is a digital delay pedal built to capture the sound and feel of the legendary Echoplex EP-3 tape echo unit in a compact, easy-to-use stompbox.
Instead of being a simple clean digital delay, it focuses on the musical imperfections that made the original tape echoes so iconic: slight saturation, gentle modulation, and progressively darker repeats as the echo decays. The result is a delay that naturally sits in the mix without overpowering your dry signal.
On the front panel, you get straightforward controls:
-
Sustain – sets the number of repeats, from a single slap to self-oscillation
-
Delay – adjusts the delay time, from short rockabilly slapback to long echoes
-
Volume – controls the level of the delayed signal relative to your dry tone
Inside the pedal, an internal Age control lets you fine-tune the character of the repeats, from cleaner and brighter to darker, more “worn tape” sounds. This makes it easy to tailor the pedal to vintage rock, ambient textures, or subtle always-on thickening.
The Echoplex Delay also includes:
If you like delays that add character rather than just repeating your signal, the Dunlop Echoplex Delay gives you that classic tape-style echo vibe with modern reliability, low noise, and simple controls that work well in both live and studio setups.
